Monknash Beach

Not one to pass up a trip to the beach, the sunny weather we've had lately made for good beach weather. Nat and I had planned to visit Llantwit Major beach but ended up going to Monknash on the recommendation of a colleague, I'm glad we listened to her.

Monknash is just down the road from Llantwit Major in the Vale of Glamorgan, which is thankfully not too far from Cardiff. After parking in a field and paying some money into a honesty box we walked down a lane and into a forest walk wondering where the sea was, but it wasn't long before we were faced with the sight of it right up ahead.

We decided to perch on top of the cliff as the tide was in, we got in some quality sun bathing relaxing before heading down to the beach for a paddle in the sea. I wish I had brought shorts with me as I would have loved to have gone into the sea for a proper swim, I wasn't feel confident enough to go in just my bikini. Good thing is that it means another trip back when the weather is nice is on the cards.

Do you know of any nice beaches in South Wales?

  1. Wow, looks beautiful... I've never even heard of this place! My favourite beaches in South Wales are still Saundersfoot and Rhosili, but both are a bit of a trek so I might try this one out x

    1. Monknash is definitely worth a visit it you get a chance :) x

  2. Would it be ok to take dogs please x
